This is an original song, which started after watching the movie "The Passion Of The Christ" The images in the movie reverberated in my soul and it was really weighing on my heart. Can we even fathom the burden placed on Jesus' shoulder that faithful night in the garden. Surely the disciples that were with him could not have realized how crucial and important Jesus' request were to them at that moment. He is God's only begotten son, (John 3:16), ocean tamer, miracle worker,but least we not forget he was also a man. A man with the greatest burden in the world, "overwhelmed with sorrow to the point of death" (Matthew 26). How would have it been to be one of the disciples that late night, tired, cold and thinking this was just another night. But for Jesus, such a great weight was on him, how alone and depressed must have he been in that moment. I can not begin to comprehend how he felt. But I thank you Jesus for being beaten and bruised for me. That I have a new life in you. I thank you for your blood that sets me free.
