I was 5 or 6 years old when I first heard Merle sing "Branded Man," "Okie From Muskogee," and "Moma Tried." Now, forty years later, I developed a strong liking for his music (I collected over 20 CDs since April 2007.) What great talent !
I have the fondest memories of singing Silver Wings with my dad along to Merle Haggard on the 8-track in our old VW camper. I could never imagine my household without the sounds of Merle, George, Hank Sr. and all the greats. Thanks for the memories
