I wrote this song about two years ago after viewing apiece on the news about a young man who was killed in Iraq the same day his son was born. As I have to adult sons, I got to thinking how I'd feel if I were the soldiers' father. The line's, "I don't want to be no hero's father. I just want my kid back." was what the soldier's father said on the news that just sent chills down my spine.
