scott detweiler - Scott Detweiler plays Los Angeles.

This performance of Scott Detweiler performing his own "Sister Marie"in Los Angeles in October 2006 is extrordinary because of the fact that he met the back-up musicians only minutes before they took the stage. They were all referred to Scott by a collegue; however, scheduling conflicts prevented any prior rehearsals or meetings. As a result, their 3 (three) plus hour performance was unrehearsed, providing the audience with a truly live and spontaneous concert experience. Detweilerized renditions of well-known classics by artists such as B.B. King and Bobby Blue Bland were performed smoothly, but performing selections from Scott's vast catalog of material would ultimately put the band to the test as they went through the set list, hearing his originals for the first time as they played the songs! Watch carefully and you can notice Scott giving commands, ques and chord progressions to the band in between lyrics as he sings. The players were FouFou Eddie on the drums, Eric Ward on bass, Larry McRae on saxophones and flute. Each one of these gentleman has a resume of performances and recordings that is chock full of some of the most legendary artists in the history of American music, including Patrice Rushen, John Lee Hooker, The Shilites, Marvin Gay and Patti Labelle.
