Intermedia Unit CTR project: controlled sound manipulation and creation in surround, dual video projection made of timeless and spaceless fluid contents, video shooting of the event plus video and audio media conversion & publishing on the internet under Creative Commons licence CC
Performance duration: 1200 seconds (20 mimutes)
Brane Zorman and his many year’s project “Brane Zorman Vs BeitThroN” resumes with a series of sound ambiental, electronic and experimental manipulations of acoustic and digital contents in real and surround sound. After the first project of this kind “Concert for 6 speakers and 2 TV eyes” (premiering at OSCILACIJE – Gallery of Modern Art, January 2006; appearing at: Gallery OZONE, Belgrade, Gallery ESC, Graz), a 1200-seconds long composition “CTR” – a fusion of granulated and defragmented sound structures, which are recomposed, reshaped and syntehisezed live by the author, premiered in November 2007.
The performance and improvisation is accompanied by a double video projection “CTR V1” and “CTR V2”. Its timeless and purposeless content presents a strong opposition to the visual contents and norms of the dynamics of present day visual consumerism. Nonetheless, “liberated” in the sense of content, the length of 1200 seconds defines and dictates the time frame of the composition “CTR”.
The control of the unit “CTR” operates on both the content and performative level.
The 1200-seconds long event was video and audio documented.
The records of the performance are available in formats m4v, g3p and mp4, which are used by present day mobile phones and players.
