This is Randy saying farewell to the city of Denver on our recent tour to release the album "Seven Songs For America". Randy is one of the talented singers in the Total Experience Gospel Choir who was nice enough to give up a week to come to the convention and help us share the music.
This is a rough video of Jon's telling of the story of the new song created by him and his brothers. On stage is Pat Wright the leader for the Total Experience Gospel Choir and Matt Cameron of Pearl Jam.
A Story to Tell: “Why Obama?”
Obama inspires action. Here is our story…
A guy woke up one day, saw Senator Barack Obama telling a story about one person named Edith Childs, who energized others with a fired up, ready to go, chant at one of his campaign stops. Inspired by Obamas “One voice can change the world” speech, he then wrote some words and rough chords for a song then called his brother to who collaborated with him to complete the composition, Fired Up Ready to Go. His brother made many phone calls, within two weeks, with the help of many, a music video was born with the intent of spreading Obamas hopeful message. Contributors include Reverend Pat Wright’s renowned Total Experience Gospel Choir, drummer Matt Cameron from Pearl Jam, Jake Bergevin, other top studio musicians, a theater, a recording studio, sound engineers, two video teams, photographers, catering and local news teams. From the first word written to the last note performed, this collective effort demonstrates Senator Obamas unifying message.
This video has some of the footage of the recording session to capture the rough draft of the new tune. It features Jake & Joe on vocals and Jon on piano.
