Description:
A resident of the Lower Ninth Ward for 45 years, Ms. Leblanc who was one of the few able to get a FEMA trailer on Tennessee St has been trying to get the city to mow the grass without any luck.
Next week will be two years since Hurricane Katrina breached the levees. Since the City of New Orleans will only fine property owners but not do anything to reduce the health risks to returning residence, New Orleans Voices For Peace will bring a John Deere tractor and volunteers to start cutting the grass. Stay tuned....
If you would like to help we will meet Tuesday and Wednesday at 8 am and begin clearing lots and cutting down the weeds starting at Tennessee and N. Galvez St. If you would like to help bring your lawn mowers and weed eaters and we will get started. Hopefully we will be able to make this a ongoing project.
