There's a 2,000 year old temple to the pagan god Mithras that was covered up by the Christians by putting a church on top called San Clemente. No pictures or video is allowed down there but I managed to sneak a little in. You can actually see the altar to Mithras, the Mithraic "school", some running water, and not much else because it's really dark down there.
