There is good surf to be had in Tamarindo and Jaco. Just don't leave ANYTHING in your rental car that you want to keep. I think the local rental car agencies have provided all of the thugs their own keys to the cars to cut down on broken windows

Don't say you went to Jaco. I hated Jaco. You should totally go check out Playa Dominical, its past the bumpy road from Quepos :) totally sick shit there. Most dangerous beach in CR. :)
