THE BASEMENT was originaly shot in 1996 as a prologue to a feature length project. In 2006, Victor Juliet shot additional footage, re-edited the short, and cut a trailer. When asked why THE BASEMENT was shot in black & white Victor Juliet commented. "Color enhances the set, the scenery, the costumes, but mysteriously enough it only detracts from the actors."
