WOW GUYS! He landed in front of the boat because the boat is dragging in WATER! Have you ever tried walking in water? The skier, Nothing but air. And the boat only influences his direction. Obviously they travel in the same basic trajectory, but he can still turn. Like towing a car with a rope.
