Filmmakers such as Eisenstein and Dovzhenko were extraordinary men with intelligence and creativity. During the Soviet party era movies were usually patriotic as World War commenced limited number of movies came out of the big screen. It was not until the 70’s the Soviet began to make great films. Similarly to the United States, movies in the past decades were usually profit oriented.
