Before the age of internet auctions, you had to actually go to Japan to get cool Japanese toys. I went for the first time in January 1996. Much less was known about Japanese toy scholarship then, so I had lots of questions that I bugged shopowners with.

This is so cool, Tom. Not once in the 13 years of toy hunting in Tokayo did I ever have a video camera. I have some still shots of toy stores, but it's nothing like a movie. Thanks for the adrenaline rush! I'm vicariously in Tokyo again!
