The question I've always had is how can we have "free will" when we are essentially social beings? From conception, we depend upon another human being to exist. We learn what we know from others... the rest is genetic and physiological threshold.

He's right, but from a philosopher's standpoint, he's lacking. Science cannot apply to the metaphysical world of thought or will. True, these actions can be traced physically, but it's obvious that there is something more, much more, to them.
