Tires were new when I start­ed, and blew out 1 burnout lat­er. 468 big­block with heav­i­ly port­ed Dart heads, Comp cus­tom ground sol­id roller cam, 13 to 1 com­pres­sion, Dom­i­na­tor 1150 carb. Dana 60 rear, with 410 gears. The car is on its sixth trans­mis­sion. Start­ed with sag­i­naw 4 speed, an­oth­er sag­i­naw 4 speed last­ed 20 min. Next was muncie m21...last­ed 2 days. Doug Nash 5 speed came next, and blew it up 3 times. Then I changed to a tubo 350 au­to­mat­ic. First one ex­plod­ed at 100mph and my friend near­ly lost his foot. It is on its 2nd tur­bo 350 now, and seems to be built well enough to han­dle the pow­er. Car has nev­er been run in the 1/4 mile. Ran a 6.80 in the eighth mile with a set of 10 inch Mick­ey Thomp­son drag slicks. I was prompt­ly kicked off of the track ...( Lacked prop­er safe­ty equip....Cage,drive­shaft loop, and sev oth­er safe­ty ori­ent­ed items.)
