Tires were new when I started, and blew out 1 burnout later. 468 bigblock with heavily ported Dart heads, Comp custom ground solid roller cam, 13 to 1 compression, Dominator 1150 carb. Dana 60 rear, with 410 gears. The car is on its sixth transmission. Started with saginaw 4 speed, another saginaw 4 speed lasted 20 min. Next was muncie m21...lasted 2 days. Doug Nash 5 speed came next, and blew it up 3 times. Then I changed to a tubo 350 automatic. First one exploded at 100mph and my friend nearly lost his foot. It is on its 2nd turbo 350 now, and seems to be built well enough to handle the power. Car has never been run in the 1/4 mile. Ran a 6.80 in the eighth mile with a set of 10 inch Mickey Thompson drag slicks. I was promptly kicked off of the track ...( Lacked proper safety equip....Cage,driveshaft loop, and sev other safety oriented items.)
