This song could be about wanting back someone one cares about but not succeeding at it, like a spouse with Alzheimer's disease or like a hopeless drug addict acquaintance. And in other cases it could be about a childhood friend one lost contact with due to their family moving away to a better place and a better life, like a move from rural to urban and vice versa. Or it could be about someone one idolises whose life is falling apart in public. For me it is mostly about my favourite season. Autumn. It is about missing it during the other three seasons and loving it when it is finally here. There's just something so special about autumn. Maybe the fact that it's the season when flying insects start to disappear has something to do with it. As an avid bicyclist I really don't know why mother nature made aphids. There's like a billion of them in your face during most of summer. Summer too is too hot and one gets all sweaty from activities like biking or anything really. Too much allergens also. The light of autumn during its entire day is also a good reason to appreciate autumn. I've never been to Paris but I keep hearing or reading about how great the light over there is. For now, I'll just have to presume that the light during autumn in my part of the world is something like the light of Paris. The colors of autumn and autumn leaves are just lovely too. And a final thing... next only to winter, autumn provides really good conditions for song creation. Okay thanks for tolerating my ramblings on the specialness of the autumn season and my putdowns of summer. I'm sure the other seasons have their good qualities too.
