Honky Tonk Bars
J.Brent (3:26)
Saturday night I was
headin’ for Denver in a beat-up hunk o’ junk
When whoops! Aw dammit! The engine went BOOM
And the fricking tranny went clunk
There I was standing
on the side of the road
I was contemplatin’ my doom, Then I saw a sign!
"Ice Cold Beer" and just twenty bucks for a room
I hitched up my jeans
and walked on in
There's this waitress just as cute as could be
I said "Hey, Honey mama whatcha been doing?"
She said she’d been waiting for me!
Here I thought it
was the end of the line
But it’s a new beginning I see
Well, bless my luck, we hopped in her truck
And she kissed me tenderly
Honky Tonk Bars
Cowgirls and Hot Rod cars
We’ll get drunk and dance all night long till the
band packs up their guitars, oh yeah
Honky Tonk Bars
Boys smokin’ cheap cigars
Spend my whole life and all of my money in
Honky Tonk Bars
(fiddle solo, piano solo)
Honey and me we drove
on down
to the hottest spot in town
It was The Hub, I think. We knocked back a drink, then
Honey bought the next round!
We got to dancin’
I was thinkin’ romancin’
I’d forgot all about my damn car
But I was getting the eye from this big hairy guy
at the other end of the bar
To my dismay he started
movin’ our way
He was snortin’ like a charging bull
He said "Back off Jack, I’m Billy Jim Earle
ain’t NObody touches my girl!"
Well, now I knew
it was the end of the line
‘Cause he was blocking my way to the door
But HONEY jumped up and kicked him in the nuts
And left him lying there on the floor
Honky Tonk Bars
Cowgirls and Hot Rod cars
We’ll get drunk and dance all night long till the
band packs up their guitars, oh yeah
Honky Tonk Bars
Them boys smokin’ cheap cigars
I’ll spend my whole life and all of my money in Honky Tonk Bars. Personnel
