Description:

The Monongah Mine Disaster in Monongah, WV was the biggest mine disaster in American history and has also been listed as the greatest industrial accident in American history. The official total dead the day of December 6, 1907 was 361, but most estimates put the numbers closer to 500 to 550 men and boys who died. Coming up on the 100th anniversary, we have put together a short video to remember those who came to this country in search of a better life, those who died that day, and those who carried on. Thanks to The Hillbilly Gypsies for the use of their song. Please search out this subject to find out more information on our past.
