Description:
In 2005 I had the privelege of going to Torino Italy twice in the same year. The first time was for the IFMAR Off Road Worlds Warm Up Race and the next time later that year was for the actual IFMAR World Championships. On the first trip we had some extra time to site see which is pretty rare for us RC racers when traveling to an event. So I took advantage of where we were in the world and the extra time and headed out on a 400 mile roadtrip with a team mate of mine to the town of Maranello which is the home of Ferrari. After touring the Ferrari museum for a few hours, we hung out next to Fiorano (Ferraris private test track) for about 4 hours because there were photographers everywhere and the rumor on the street was that Ferrari were suppose to be testing that day. So,after a lot of anticipation and waiting we finally caught a glimpse of the all mighty Ferrari F1 car being piloted by Vanentino Rossi who is one of the best Moto GP riders in the history of motor cycle racing and has rock star type popularity in his native Italy. Now, I have been to the Austrian Grand Prix so I knew what to expect but that did not stop the goose bumps from popping up when that 800 horsepower normally aspirated V8 came screaming by. Yummy! It was well worth the wait.
