Tegan has this to say about Call It Off and love songs: “When I wrote this song I felt pret­ty un­o­rig­i­nal be­cause ev­ery­body writes love songs and ev­ery­body feels like their love’s the most im­por­tant and when their love ends and they get their heart bro­ken, that no­body un­der­stands. And that’s ridicu­lous. But so am I.”

She al­so tells the sto­ry about how and why she wrote the song (sort of), which is ap­par­ent­ly about her ad­dic­tion to MyS­pace among oth­er things. She al­so shares a very hu­mor­ous anec­dote about Ger­man in­ter­views and what hap­pened to Matt Sharp from the Rentals in Ger­many.
