Description:
Here I'm working at a fund-raiser with Boston's own Riverboat Stompers in Concert in Needhan MA. This enthusiastic group is both fun to hear and great to watch ...their music is said to be "infective". Audiences love to watch musicians having fun playing! Some unique features of this clip are the inclusion of Sousa's "Stars and Stripes Forever" as part of the finale. I also use sirens and klaxons to lift the level of energy during the endings of these tunes. This technique is referred to as "Novelty Jazz" and was a Hallmark of Jelly Roll Morton's Band. The audience usually responds to this effect by pumping adrenalin and raising the roof! This is great entertainment for the band as well.
