    Mike missed the point. The movie opens with an in­se­cure new 00. Af­ter be­ing dou­ble-​crossed by a dou­ble-​agent he tough­ens up and be­comes the ed­u­cat­ed, ar­tic­u­late, all-​know­ing, cold-​blood­ed, amoral, dis­af­fect­ed as­sas­sin we know as Bond, James Bond.
