Here's a cool short showing the talent of Lester Young on sax, and Jo Jones on the drums for the upbeat 2nd half of the set. Black people created jazz in and kept pushing it to create it's various forms: 'traditional', boogie-woogie, swing, bebop, experimental, etc. It was swing and bebop, along with jitterbug & charleston dance, and wearing the zoot-suit that captured the tastes of our people who were directly influenced by the jazz culture created by the Black Nation in the u.s. The dancers here do a mix of the lindyhop and the jitterbug con poquito del charlesotn. -ale

Prominent jazz musicians of the 1940's get together for a rare filming of a jam session. Marie Bryant has a vocal, and dancer Archie Savage does the jitterbug. It is notable that for several cast members, this is their only known appearance in a theatrical film.
