Description:
This is a trilobite beetle (Coleoptera: Lycidae, probably genus Duliticola. It comes from Puhipii Mountain in Oudomxay, Laos. These are also known as net-winged beetles, and are related to click beetles, fireflies, and soldier beetles. The females are neotenous, attaining reproductive maturity without metamorphosis. The armor plates on the back are called scutes.
PLEASE NOTE: the name of the song in the video is in Dr~Terry~Mang's early post in the "comments" section.
This is NOT a trilobite, it is a BEETLE. "Trilobite" is just a nickname for this insect.
