RAPHAEL SAADIQ-​ Hol­ly­wood, CA-​ 9/19/08

Thanks to a great part­ner­ship with KJLH, MyS­pace had the biggest re­lease show yet last week. Thou­sands con­vened in the beau­ti­ful Hol­ly­wood & High­land Cen­ter to see one of the most tal­ent­ed singers of our genereation.

Fash­ion­ably late, Raphael jumped on stage with a nice­ly tai­lored suit that matched the style and col­or of his back­ground singers. Be­fore jump­ing in­to his clas­sics, he per­formed his lat­est sin­gle, "Love That Girl."

Lucy Pearl fans were de­light­ed to hear "Dance Tonight" and hoped for an ap­pear­ance from Dawn, but screamed as Raphael be­gan to sing some of his own clas­sics such as "Ask Of You," "Me and You," "An­niver­sary," and "Get In­volved." Tony! Toni! Tone! fans weren't dis­ap­point­ed as he did a short med­ley of "It Nev­er Rains" and "If I Had No Loot." With a ca­reer that spans 4 times as long as the av­er­age artist, his per­for­mance was self ex­plana­to­ry to his longevi­ty.
