Trapped underground for 321 hours (nearly 2 weeks!) by a mining accident that killed one of their co-workers in May 2006, Brant Webb and Todd Russell survived the catastrophe and were freed by a mammoth rescue effort that captured the nation and the world. While in Adelaide, Brant and Todd visited Timms Tunes, the studio where the song was recorded, and sang backing vocals on the choruses.
