Marinel­la was born in 1975 in Zürich, Switzer­land, her moth­er was Greek (Cre­tan) and her fa­ther from Sici­ly. She, al­ready at an ear­ly age, dis­cov­ered how art could help her es­cape the stress­es of ev­ery­day life. Her Art al­ways tend­ed to­wards the spir­i­tu­al and peace­ful. Marinel­la was nat­u­ral­ly and in­stinc­tive­ly at­tract­ed to Greek Icons and Byzan­tine Art, which she stud­ied from 1998 for two years in a con­vent in Ha­nia, Crete.

To­day Marinel­la has de­vel­oped two styles, she paints flo­ral oil paint­ings us­ing lush and vi­brant colours and Icons which, with a de­cid­ed­ly mod­ern sen­si­tiv­i­ty, are to be con­sid­ered Con­tem­po­rary Byzan­tine Art. Marinel­la is a In­ter­na­tion­al Artist who's works can be ad­mired in ex­hi­bi­tions in Amer­i­ca, Cana­da, Ger­many, Italy, Greece, Aus­tria and Switzer­land.
