Description:

"I love this legendary jazzy, breathtaking "transcription" made by Ferruccio Busoni. It is a revision of a J.S. Bach prelude-choral. Being considered a challenging pianistic nightmare, feared and avoided even by the majority of the most brilliant pianists, this "prelude" its surely one of the most difficult piano piece ever written, especially for the independence of the two hands and the "Busoni" speed required. This "amature" video recording is made after three weeks of study of this piece. I like it to play "jazzy" this way, without trying to sound "classical" with more piano & forte accents... It is a really rough mix and video, since it is completely self made... I will make a more "professional" video when I will play the tune more fluently, so that i consider this just a "promo" of what to come... lol... This video was made in the house of my late beloved father Carlo in Rome. I'm playing his "little" Steinway, S Model. This piano has a beautiful sound, but doesn't have the "tonal pedal" which is indeed badly needed for this particular piece... then I tried my best to play without it! ...classical music afficionado & conoisseurs will forgive me for that... This video is dedicated "In memoriam" to my father Carlo and to Ferruccio Busoni with all my respect & luv for their unbeatable musical genius!" - Paolo Rustichelli, Roma - June 9, 2009
