One of the great joys of my ca­reer was to work with Philly leg­end Ed­die Hol­man.
We first record­ed this song as a sin­gle on Night­mare Records in 1988. Nev­er sat­is­fied with it, I had an­oth­er go at it in 1998, ten years lat­er, mak­ing it less Dis­co and more North­ern Soul.
It start­ed to at­tract at­ten­tion on the CD re­lease on Gold­mine, New North­ern Soul For A New Mil­le­ni­um. And then we put it out as a lim­it­ed edi­tion sev­en inch along with the launch of The Strange World Of North­ern Soul.
Try­ing to find a copy of that sev­en inch now, is like try­ing to find gold dust.
Ed­die record­ed a video for it in Philadel­phia for us, but for­got half the words, so when he came over to do an all­nighter in Low­ton, I went up there with sev­er­al friends, and dur­ing his re­hearsals, shot the video for a sec­ond time.
