For millennia, human beings have looked to the Polar Sky in awe of a phenomenon that fuels folkloric imagination and religious beliefs, while at the same time defying scientific explanation: the Aurora Borealis. Riddle of the Polar Sky takes us on a journey to the top of the world to better understand the mystery of the magical visual spectacle. But it is not just a quest to understand the workings of the Aurora – it is also a journey to understand the players behind the shimmering curtain of light – the unpredictable solar wind thrown out by the Sun; and the mysterious magnetic dynamo at the centre of the Earth.
