I was at­tempt­ing to make a slight im­prove­ment to my per­son­al-​best depth of 135ft by free­d­iv­ing to 145ft at the buoy off of Di­a­mond Head, but, in spite of a glassy-​calm day, a strong tide-​driv­en cur­rent thwart­ed the at­tempt. I de­cid­ed to do some free im­mer­sion along the buoy chain any­way, and sur­prised my­self by reach­ing 123.7ft/38m in spite of the un­fa­vor­able con­di­tions.
