Pregnant in America examines the betrayal of humanity's greatest gift--birth--by the greed of U.S. corporations. Hospitals, insurance companies and other members of the healthcare industry have all pushed aside the best care of our infants and mothers to play the power game of raking in huge profits.
His wife pregnant, first-time filmmaker Steve Buonaugurio sets out to create a film that will expose the underside of the U.S. childbirth industry and help end its neglectful exploitation of pregnancy and birth.

Being born IS a business, and one that causes unnecessary surgery. While there is a place for doctors, attending the births of healthy low risk women is not it. Educate yourself before agreeing to unnecessary interventions!

i have enough respect in myself to know that my body can do marvelous things WITHOUT INTERVENTION...my son was brought into the world with numerous complications caused by the hosital, actually.i'd rather die than go back.

You should also see "The Business of Being Born"!!! Excellent stuff. I've done birth both ways, and I'd have a thousand natural births again, before I'd go through another hospital birth. Best experience of my life!!!!
