    i think fou­cault is trapped in the "it hasn't hap­pened in his­to­ry -​ there­fore it can nev­er hap­pen" syn­drome... while chom­sky is just think­ing ahead to a pos­si­ble fu­ture based on a cou­ple of ideas he be­lieves to be true about hu­man na­ture...
