Big explosion in the late 80's on the edge of Las Vegas with a big mushroom cloud. A rocket fuel plant with ammonium perchlorate ignition and a later pipeline rupture shooting flames hundreds of feet in the air. I was about 8 miles away and thought we were under attack. It was a very powerful explosion.
